Fall 2008 Lighted Field Schedules

Lighted Field schedules go into effect as of  Monday, Oct. 27th!

Updated schedules now up as of Oct. 31st! - Very few changes and those teams that had to have their time, day or location changed already know about it, but you may want to see if any spots next to you that were empty or taken before have changed. 

The new Lighted Field Assignments for 2008 are completed and ready for download.

Note on Printing information: For the best results, save the pages to your PC and then click on the file once it is there to open it. Once you’ve opened it you can better view it and even rotate and magnify it for better viewing. If you choose to print the pages straight from the website be sure to print all files in ‘Portrait’ format.

How to access the information:

First, depending on your team(s), download the Older (Div 3 – Div 6 Upper & Signature) Lighted Field Assignment page or the Younger (Div 6 Lower & Pee Wee) Lighted Field Assignment page. On these pages you will find your team(s) listed by division, and the day(s), time(s), and location(s) each team is assigned to.

Second, download the Lighted Field Location Map. This map will show very clearly where your practice location(s) are.

Third, if you wish you can download the appropriate field Time Slot Grid so you can see when other teams are practicing at your location and who, if anybody, is practicing in the locations around you. This info could be important. Maybe the spot next to you has no one scheduled at the same time as your practice and therefore you may be able to spread out more for example, or you may be able to let your practice start a little early or go a little long if no one is scheduled right before or after you. When doing this compare the appropriate Time Slot Grid to the Lighted Field Location Map to make finding this information easier.

Changes to the Schedule:

The Fields Manager will not alter or add any practice dates for any teams. If you need or wish to change your practice schedule you will be responsible for finding an open location and time on the schedule. Remember: first come, first serve each night on open spots.

If the Field Manager incorrectly scheduled your team or there is some other conflict in the schedule please contact him no later than early Friday, Oct. 31st. Any and all corrections will be fixed and the schedule will be reposted online that night, Friday, Oct 31st.

Please recheck your schedule online on Friday evening Oct. 31st or Saturday morning Nov. 1 to see if there have been any changes.

RULES ABOUT FIELD USAGE

1)      Always carry a copy of the above information with you to your practices to verify to others that you are practicing at the right time and in the right spot.

2)      Please respect your ‘practice neighbors.’ Do not infringe on other teams assigned practice spots.

3)      Teams that are practicing ‘back to back’ time-wise with other teams must exit their spot ON TIME so the next team can begin their practice on time. 

4)      If you are practicing in a spot and at a time that has been assigned to another team and they ask you to move at the time their practice should begin, you MUST move then.

5)      NO older teams are allowed to practice in areas specifically assigned to Lower 6 or Pee Wee teams until AFTER Nov. 22nd. There are NO exceptions to this rule.

6)      Heartwell 1 & 2 have been divided into 6 equally sized spots. DO NOT infringe on other teams assigned spots. When marking off your spot, it’s easy to see where the line should be down the middle of the field from goal to goal, but knowing how far down the field you should go is a bit more in question sometimes. To help illustrate how to measure or at least ‘eyeball’ how much field you should take down the field, teams at the ends of HW 1 or 2 get 2/3 the length of half the field starting at the back line. Teams in the middle get 1/3 on each side of the midfield line.

7)      If two team’s spots split a goal, PLEASE cooperate so both teams can have at least some time to use the goal if they wish. This is a common courtesy.   

8)      Unassigned/open locations can be used on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis each night.

9)      Club teams are NOT allowed to practice under the lights at Heartwell Park. Bancroft Middle School is their practice location.

10)  Bancroft Middle School is off limits to Rec and Signature teams. Heartwell Park under the lights is their practice location.

11) The lights will turn off at 9:15 PM each night.


Important: If any games are canceled because of rain, please check the website in the weeks that follow to make sure that a make-up game has not been scheduled on your field!
